SAS - Sow A Seed
There are many opportunities to volunteer in your community. Check with your local Chamber of Commerce for some ideas. Some places I have/am volunteering at include: Stuff The Bus, Christmas Honors (decorating the National Cemetery with wreaths), and the Boys & Girls Club. Recently I was asked to be a member of the UAFS Academy of the Arts Advisory Board. I was also awarded the "Good Heart Award" for volunteer work at the 2013 Crawford County Fair Teen pageant. Volunteer. Make a difference. Pay it forward. Sow a seed and watch it grow.

I team up with the AR Attorney General's Office and speak to various audiences (students, parents, etc) about the dangers of social network sites and how to avoid becoming a victim of an online predator.

I volunteer my time in the summers to give tours of the Drennan Scott House. I also volunteer with my baseball at different events in our community. I highly encourage others to get involved and give back.

I volunteer my time helping out at the House of Prayer. This is a safe house for those looking to turn their life around. I pray with them and reassure them, they are loved.
I love to volunteer at Mercy Hospital, rocking babies in the nursery on Sunday afternoons. I look forward to it each week and know that this simple gesture is showing God's love.

Have you sown a seed today? Studies show that doing a good deed produces endorphins equivalent to those a runner has after a jog. Jesus says "It is better to give than to receive." St Paul says, "God loves a cheerful giver." A famous Chinese proverb ends with "If you want happiness for a lifetime, help someone else."
